The Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital in Apia, Samoa held their Presentation Ceremony for 2018 successful participants of the Sydney Child Health Program on 29th March 2019.
The ceremony was opened by Dr Litara Esera, Senior Registrar and a candidate of the Master’s program with Sydney University welcomed the participants, family, staff and the Ministry of Health. The ceremony was well attended by representatives of each division of the hospital. A prayer of thanks was given by Rev Poasa Toia and the keynote speaker was Dr Edward Tito Kamu, Head of Unit.
Dr Kirtimalini Dalbhanjan spoke of the program history, vision, mission and shared the success story of their selection and batch against many odds. She expressed pride and satisfaction with the confidence gained by all the nurses who successfully completed the program in 2018 and the impact it would have in serving the sick children of Samoa.

The SCHP team in Sydney express their hearty congratulations to all successful participants of the program as well as Dr Kirtimalini Dalbhanjan and key supporters from the hospital and the National Health Team in Samoa who made it possible for participants to access this quality paediatric education. We welcome new enrolees to the program.

Kilifi County Hospital, Kenya Presentation Ceremony for Class of 2018
Seven participants (Mr Shalton Mwaringa, Mr Boniface Luganje, Mr Patrick Kosgei, Ms Joyce Langat, Ms Mwanajuma Ngama, Mr Alexander Makazi and Mr John Musembi) from the Kilifi County Hospital SCHP site were successful in their December 2018 exam. However, only four participants were able to attend the presentation ceremony on 29th March 2019.
At the local monthly staff meeting, participants were officially presented their certificates held at KEMRI-Wellcome Trust offices in Kilifi. During this meeting, programme directors informed staff of all the programme activities that have occurred within the month and any achievements accomplished by specific staff. It was therefore the best platform to present these certificates.
The certificates were presented by the KEMRI Centre Director, Dr. Benjamin Tsofa and Head of Clinical Service Dr. Neema Mturi. KEMRI-Wellcome Trust director, Prof. Philip Bejon was also present.

National Paediatric Hospital, Phnom Penh
Class of 2018 Participants of National Paediatric Hospital, Phnom Penh, Cambodia had their presentation ceremony on 11th April 2019.
